My work imagines and expresses the subconscious as place. It assertively rejects the prevailing structures and logic of our world, and, instead, seeks out the freeform, primitive and singular spaces within our minds.
My collages are dissections, literally and figuratively. Investigations to find new meaning and truth in the parts and pieces of the presumed and accepted. From this fresh well of discovery spring vivid, playful and confounding scenes. The meticulously cut and placed paper bringing the previously unknown to life.
With ink I tap into the primordial wisdom of the point in space. Intuitively drawing points into lines, into shapes, into forms, into space. Envisioning these compositions as maps, diagrams, and symbols to be elaborated from.
Each piece invites the viewer to a place where they can wander, play, and dream.
